  • The Best Family Friendly Company in Ukraine.

    NGO "Women's Prospects" and the Centre for CSR Development jointly with the Centre for Communications and Development (Slovak Republic) under the financial support by SlovakAid of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Slovak Republic launch the implementation of the project “The Best Family Friendly Company in Ukraine” (institution whose corporate policy promotes the balance between family life and work). This project is based on Slovak experience in implementation of such completion. The participants of the project are: Ministry of Labour, Social and Family Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Research Institute for Labour and Family Policy (Slovak Rep.), Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports, State Committee of Ukraine for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship, Centre for Communications and Development (Slovak Republic), Centre for CSR Development (Ukraine), “Women’s Prospectives” NGO (Ukraine). Duration of the project implementation is 16 months. It is planned to carry out the following activities within the project: to organise and implementation of a competition for the best family friendly company in Ukraine, holding of a round table “CSR. Slovak and Ukrainian experience”; organization of press clubs in Ukraine’s regions to disseminate information about the competition; organization of training tour to Slovak Republic for winners of the competition; web-site support and best practices brochure publishing.

    On April 17, 2008, the first meeting of the Competition Organization Committee took place within the framework of the Slovak delegation visit to Ukraine. The regulations of the Competition have been developed currently and are going to be based on Slovak experience where such competition has been hold since 2000.  From 2000 to 2007, appr. 300 Slovak employers participated in the Competition. The main tasks of the Competition are to make the society and employers more sensitive to the issues of family/work balance; to motivate employers to introduce measures to ensure family/work balance, deepen women and men equality at work and in the society, extend good practices and experience of the companies which care about their employees and develop the activities aimed at finding a better balance between family life and work. The competition includes the following categories – family policy, gender equality, the most original event for employees’ families. Official invitation to the Competition will be made in September 2008. Implementation of this project will promote the improvement of social policy and social responsibility practice at Ukrainian enterprises, interaction of all stakeholders.
