    COUNCIL OF EUROPE REPORTERS CALLS FOR MORE ACTION TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

    Research has shown that between 12% and 15% of women in Europe face violence in the home each day.  This startling fact lead the Council of Europe to commence a campaign to criminalize domestic violence, provide support for victims and promote new attitudes which assert that domestic violence will not be tolerated.

    Secretary General of the cOuncil of Europe Terry Davis today arrives in Ukraine. As press-service of MFA of Ukraine reports official visit will last to 6th November.  Ò. DAvis will meet with President of Ukraine Victor  Yushchenko, Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Moroz, Prime Minister Victor Yanukovich and Minister for Foreign Affairs  Borys Tarasyuk.
